DSEI 2017 set to be the leading business forum for military aerospace

Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEI) is set to consolidate its reputation as Europe's leading event for defence systems procurement.  DSEI takes place at ExCeL London 12-15 September 2017, and attracts buyers from multiple markets including an unrivalled number of international delegations and government officials.

DSEI 2015 attracted 255 programmed overseas delegations. With increasing investment in military aerospace systems DSEI has an ever growing focus on this key element of defence capability.

Advanced defence powers including the US and UK, GCC nations in the Middle East and other major European powers are seeking to upgrade their aerospace capabilities with new aircraft and advanced systems such as the F-35 Lightning II, Eurofighter Typhoon & JAS 39 Gripen. Soon-to-be replaced models such as the Tornado GR4, F-15 Eagle, and F-16 Fighting Falcon maintain their inherent operational capability and offer a route for many nations to substantially upgrade their capability, by replacing older air frames – such as the venerable F-5 Tiger – and acquire new systems.

There is a strong demand for such legacy aircraft and there is a thriving 'secondary market' for both air frames, system upgrades, and logistic support for existing models in this market. In addition to the leading military aerospace nations, DSEI is attended by 66% of the nations with active legacy aircraft procurement programmes. These attendees are seeking new avionics, sub-systems, defensive aid suites and weapon system upgrades, to equip their existing and newly acquired air frames.

Leading aerospace companies such as BAE Systems, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Rolls Royce, Leonardo, Eurofighter Typhoon, Saab, Rafael, United Technologies, L3, Thales, Israel Aerospace Industries, Qinetiq, Qioptiq and hundreds of innovative SMEs have already confirmed their attendance, and are looking to capitalise on the opportunities presented by DSEI 2017.

Companies serving this thriving military aerospace market at DSEI 2017 include Esterline, Inzpire and Nasmyth Group. Inzpire are an award-winning supplier of defence managed services and innovative mission systems, and one of the fastest growing defence companies in the UK. Chris Stevens, Sales and Marketing Director at Inzpire, said "Inzpire will be showcasing its 'GECO System', an advanced tablet based Mission System optimised for both Airmen and Soldiers on the ground. In addition, Inzpire will be demonstrating its cutting edge Targeted Fidelity Helicopter training solution, that combines the latest in simulation capability with live flying instruction. DSEI is fast becoming the 'go to' show for defence, capturing customers from all of the domains Air, Land, Sea and Cyber all in one location. It is an ideal exhibition environment for a company like Inzpire who deliver services and products across all military domains".

DSEI 2017 will feature its strongest aerospace offering yet, comprising fixed wing, rotary and unmanned systems. Platforms represented by exhibitors and MODs, many with static internal or external displays, include F-35 Lightning II, Eurofighter Typhoon, JAS 39 Gripen, AW101 Merlin, Insitu ScanEagle, WS-61 Sea King, Westland Lynx, AW159 Wildcat, AH-64 Apache, SA330 Puma, CH-47 Chinook, BAE Hawk T1 trainer, Tornado GR4 and Watchkeeper WK450. Furthermore, emphasising the importance of DSEI as a leading business forum for military aerospace professionals, DSEI will also host presentations by top level UK and overseas senior air officers.

The popular Air Zone, fully supported by the Royal Air Force and Joint Helicopter Command, includes a capability area dedicated to the aerospace supply chain. The Zone will host a comprehensive seminar programme focused on procurement, training, export maximisation and promoting opportunities for SMEs. Companies already confirmed to feature in the Zone include Challenger Solutions; The Pandect Group; SABRE Global Services; and Ross Aviation.
