Good morning everyone,

First of all, I would like to thank EMBRAER for the invitation to be part of this event and for the opportunity to share with all of you a glimpse of what our company have been doing in terms of innovation.

WEG is a global electric-electronic equipment company, operating mainly in the capital goods sector with solutions in electric machines, automation and paints for several sectors, including power generation, infrastructure, steel, electric traction, oil and gas, mining, among many others.

Today we have manufacturing units in 12 countries, we are present in more than 135 countries, and we employ more than 30,000 worldwide. In 2018, our net revenue reached R$ 11.9 billion, of which 58% from external markets.

As a global manufacturer of electric-electronic equipment we are always thinking ahead, continuously investing in new technologies, new markets and people’s development. We prepare ourselves for the future by developing solutions to meet the mega trends focused on electric mobility, energy efficiency, renewable energies and the Industry 4.0. In 2018, 43% of our revenue came from products developed within the last 5 years.

Besides our robust structure, formed by 33 research, development and testing laboratories in the world, we count with 2,435 employees involved with R&DI activities. Outside we have partnerships with universities, and start-ups in Brazil.

It is in the company DNA to follow the market trends and anticipate opportunities. In the electric mobility area, we have a long tradition of suppling electric traction systems for buses, trucks, trolebus, locomotives and vessels, besides recharge systems for electric vehicles.

Our experience in this traction and electric motility market brought us here. Our powertrain technology, developed over the years, tested and in constant innovation, qualified us for these grand scientific and technologic cooperation project.

Together with Embraer we are going to work not only to make aircrafts electric propulsion viable, but also elevate the technological capabilities of WEG, Embraer and Brazil, elevating our country to a and even more competitive threshold, reference in sustainable technology.

We at WEG are very happy of being part of such a complex project, mainly for the opportunity to partner up with a genuinely Brazilian company that, just as us, work daily to bring national technology to every corner of the world.
