Spanish Industry shows its capabilities to the Latin American market in LAAD 2011

Madrid, the 25th of March 2011

Abance, Andalucia – Spain, Security & Defense Cluster – Extenda, EMC Arpa, CESA, Elimco, Ghenova, Grupo TAM, Indra, ITP, Tecnobit, Tekplus, and Uro, Vehículos Especiales, the 8 companies in the Spanish Pavilion at LAAD, agree on the importance of the exhibition within the current circumstances in Defense Sector in Latin America, specifically Brazil, a market with great prospects for the coming years. Therefore, all the companies in the Pavilion will bring a large sample of their services and products.
The Ministry of Defense, with Inta and Isdefe, will be attending and supporting the Spanish Defense Industry abroad. The Spanish Pavilion is coordinated by the Spanish Association of Defense, Aeronautics and Space Technologies (TEDAE).

For EMC Arpa, Latin America is a region of strategic importance because their equipment is supplied to armies and governments of many countries in the area during 40 years. Among other recent projects, the company declares: "Arpa has been selected through international tender to supply 32 mobile field kitchens for the Brazilian Army."

For Elimco, attending the exhibition LAAD once more means reaffirming its strategy of introducing the company to the Brazilian and Latin American market of Defense and Security, "one of the strongest in the international arena and with more growth forecast" , is said from the company. Elimco will bring a sample of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles with applications for civil, security and defense.

Abance is an engineering firm specialized in the design and development of projects of all types of vessels. Headquartered in Cadiz, in its process of internationalization, is opening an office in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, with the participation of a local partner, which demonstrates its interest in participating in LAAD.
 
Compañía Española de Sistemas Aeronáuticos, SA (CESA) is specialized in the development, production and maintenance of fluid-mechanical equipment. With outstanding experience in actuators for door systems and loading ramp and landing gear, will present in Laad its A400M RampActuator and C295RampActuator.
 
Ghenova, a company of Engineering Services for Naval, Aerospace, Civil sectors and Consulting, considers very important its presence at the show, supported directly by his office in Rio de Janeiro. With their attendance seek to "maximize opportunities in the American continent, identify their needs and try to solve them with our experience and resources. "

Grupo TAM is a company with two main divisions: Aerospace and Defense. Its aerospace division has the capacity to develop programs of complete cycle from specification to product certification, including tooling. His defense division provides support for the Navy and the Spanish Army, in engineering, spare parts, electrical harnesses, maintenance and retro-fitting of tanks and armored vehicles.

Indra, a multinational company of IT will bring to the fair in Brazil their latest products and services in Security and Defense. Among others, the SIVE (Integrated System of External Surveillance), their radar systems (most notably the family of radars Lanza 3 D), its electronic defense equipment and military communications, command and control systems, simulation and unmanned platforms.

INTA will participate in LAAD with advanced technology development and performance use. Also demonstrates its position of proven experience in areas of space, electronic warfare and large test facilities. Thus, INTA will provide information about its system DIANA, which allows an aerial vehicle with great potential flight, at a reduced cost, and MILANO, an observation system with large capacity.

Since its starts, Isdefe (Ingeniería de Sistemas para la Defensa de España, S.A. – Systems Engineering for the Defense of Spain, S.A) has proven to be an ally and a perfect support in national and multinational companies. Currently, it is mandated by the Ministry of Defense of Spain, the negotiation of industrial cooperation and compensation, assisting in the negotiation of large purchases of weapons systems and the representation of Spanish industrial and technological interests in the cooperative international programs.  

The ITP Group is specialized in conducting R & D, design, production, assembly and testing of engines and gas turbines for aeronautical, naval and industrial sectors. Maintenance and solutions "service support" are also of the greatest assets of the company with a repair capacity of more than 400 engines per year. The company is also currently involved in the manufacture of large engines such as EJ200, TP400, MTR390-E, Trent 900 for the Airbus 380, Trent 1000 for Boeing B787, among others.

Tecnobit wants to offer the Latin American market its technological capabilities for the Defense, Security and Aerospace sectors. To do so presents its wide range of solutions, products and systems within the areas of optronics, command and control and simulation. It has just won a contract to build two artillery simulation centers for the Brazilian Army, based in the Artillery Simulator (SIMAC) of the Spanish Army. For that reason, in LAAD will be presented in various multimedia materials that will recreate the characteristics of SIMAC Spanish and will be the future SIMAC Brazil.

Uro, Vehículos Especiales (UROVESA) focuses primarily on the design and manufacture of special all-terrain vehicles for military and industrial applications, offering a wide range of versions and configurations capable of providing an optimal solution for every need. At LAAD will bring the VAMTAC shielded, considering that "it is the ideal showcase for the launch and presentation of new versions and applications of special vehicles, given the great prestige worldwide of this event." 

The Spanish Association of Defense, Aeronautics and Space Technologies (TEDAE) is constituted in 2009 to represent and promote the interests of its members both nationally and internationally. The Association integrates high-tech Spanish companies present in these three areas of activity. The sectors represented by TEDAE bill around 8,500 million euros, of which 65% are destinated to export and 12% in R + D.
