Embraer is attending fair in Morocco

he International Marrakech Air Show opened this Wednesday and runs until next Saturday with more than 200 companies of the aviation sector.

Embraer is attending this week the aviation fair International Marrakech Air Show, in Morocco. The exhibition opened this Wednesday (27) with more than 200 companies and runs until next Saturday (30) at the air base of the Marrakech-Menara Airport. The Brazilian manufacturer took two aircraft models to showcase in the event: the executive jet Legacy 500 and the Super Tucano, one of the top-selling models of Embraer’s Defense and Security Division.

The Legacy 500 can fly up to 5,780 km without refueling and carry up to 12 passengers. The turboprop Super Tucano is used for both combat mission and pilot training. It can be equipped with cannons and carry up to 1.5 ton of weapons. Among the Arab countries, the armed forces of Mauritania and Lebanon use the model.

However, the presence in the fair is not Embraer’s debut in the Moroccan market, since jets from its Commercial Aircraft Division are part of the fleet of the state-run airline Royal Air Maroc. Four E 190 model aircrafts, for up to 100 passengers, are used in regional routes in Morocco and in the African continent. The latest delivery to Royal Air Maroc by Embraer was in December 2014.

The International Marrakech Air Show is in its fifth edition. The first one was held in 2008. It’s Africa’s main aviation sector exhibition.

According to information from the event’s organization, attending the International Marrakech Air Show are manufacturers of satellites, aircrafts, aeronautical systems and maintenance equipment, and representatives of airlines, defense sector, airport management companies, governments and financial companies that lease aircrafts.
