New names announced during unveiling of new jets
full-scale mock-ups
Orlando, Fla., Nov. 9, 2005 Embraer today revealed
at the worlds largest business jet exhibition the
names of its new very light and light jets the Phenom
100 and the Phenom 300.
The names were announced during the unveiling of the full-scale
mock-ups of Embraers new executive jets at the annual
convention of the National Business Aviation Association
(NBAA) in Orlando, United States.
The Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 are truly extraordinary products
for their premium comfort, docile flying qualities and outstanding
performance. Other inherent qualities include next-generation
engines, low-cost operation and high-utilization design.
The Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 will compete in the very light,
entry and light jet
segments. Their distinctive advantages, namely cabin size
and comfort, pilot-friendly
cockpit and high availability, make them an excellent choice
for personal use, business travel and air taxi operation.
When selecting a name for Embraers new executive
jet family, we found the Phenom name came out very strongly,
and better translated its superior characteristics and ability
to offer an unbound flight experience, said Maurício
Botelho, Embraer President and CEO. The Phenom 100
and Phenom 300 reaffirm Embraers commitment to the
business aviation market, started when we launched the Legacy,
setting new standards for cabin space and comfort, privacy,
dispatch reliability and performance.
The Phenom (pronounced fee-nom) jets were launched
in May 2005 to complement Embraers executive jets
portfolio and advance the Companys position on this
market.

The pilot-friendly cockpit and the docile flying qualities
of the two new aircraft will enable single-pilot operation.
