GECAS
plans to acquire 40 additional Airbus A320 family aircraft
GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) has signed a letter
of intent to order 40 Airbus A320 Family aircraft. The order
covers A319s, typically seating 124 passengers, as well
as the larger A320s with 150 passengers in a standard layout,
with the flexibility to convert some to A321 models.
GECAS
has already placed all Airbus aircraft in its backlog so
far with operators and is now seeking to acquire additional
capacity in order to meet increasing demand from airlines
for Airbus aircraft in this size category. The Airbus A320
Family, with its aircraft seating between 100 and 220 passengers,
is perfectly placed to provide additional capacity for leasing
companies and airlines around the world.
GE
Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) is the commercial aircraft
financing and leasing business of General Electric Co. GECAS
has a fleet of more than 1,300 owned aircraft and offers
a full range of aircraft fleet, financing and productivity
solutions, including operating leases, secured debt financing,
engine leasing, spare parts financing and management, and
pilot training. GECAS has offices in 22 cities worldwide
serving more than 200 airlines in some 60 countries.
Airbus
A320 Family is the recognised technological leader in single-aisle

also consistently leads in independent passenger and operator
surveys.
Airbus
A320 Family is the most successful aircraft in the world,
having been chosen by more than 190 customers and operators
around the world, including both established and low-cost
carriers. Firm orders for the Airbus A320 Family stand at
more than 3,500 aircraft, almost 2,500 of which have been
delivered.
