CREWS IN EUROPE
Companys EMBRAER 170 Full Flight Simulator is the
first to operate in the Continent
São José dos Campos, August 22, 2005
Embraer today announced that Europes first EMBRAER
170 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) has entered service to provide
professional cockpit crew instruction for customers based
in the region.
Fully owned by Embraer, the EMBRAER 170 FFS enables highly
realistic training to be carried out for the EMBRAER 170/190
aircraft, which count as a single type for rating purposes.
The simulator is able to duplicate in full motion all flight
conditions for these aircraft, including all-weather flying
and even wind shear conditions, as well as emergency situations
such as bird strikes and engine failure.
The high degree of commonality among the four members of
the EMBRAER 170/190
family results in exceptional advantages for airlines including
cross crew qualification
(CCQ), which allows better utilization of training resources
without the restrictions
normally associated with mixed-fleet flying.
Manufactured in Canada by CAE, the EMBRAER 170 FFS is based
at Swiss Aviation
Training in Zurich. As the preferred training provider for
the EMBRAER 170/190 family
in Europe, Swiss Aviation Training has been providing type
conversion training for flight
crews, cabin crews and maintenance personnel worldwide since
the programs
inauguration
